Backend/AI Developer (HealthTech / Wearables)

About Us: Agen is an AI-powered longevity platform that brings wearables, personalized supplements, adaptive fitness and recovery guidance into one connected system. Using data from the Agen Band and more than 50 biomarkers, its app creates a daily, evidence-graded health plan, while the Agen Robot dispenses personalized supplement doses—helping members continually optimize sleep, recovery, performance and long-term wellness. What you will do Develop and scale backend services: Write reliable, high-performance code in Rust and Go to process biometrics and health metrics in real time. Build AI-driven services: You won’t just use AI to write code; you will build AI into the core product. You will develop the backend infrastructure that powers our AI health plans, integrate LLMs, and manage the data flow for our predictive longevity models and autonomous health agents. Integrate IoT and hardware: Set up data ingestion from wearable devices (Agen Band via MQTT/Bluetooth), manage the logic of our smart dispenser (Agen Robot), and integrate with third-party APIs. Work with data: Design schemas to store and aggregate billions of metrics in ClickHouse, and manage user profiles and device data in PostgreSQL. Connect services: Ensure reliable data transport between microservices using gRPC and RabbitMQ. Lead AI-agentic development: We don't write code manually when a machine can do it. You will design and optimize development pipelines using autonomous AI agents (Agentic Workflows), orchestrate their execution, review AI-generated solutions, and drastically accelerate Time-to-Market. Our Stack Languages: Rust, Go. Databases: ClickHouse (metrics, biomarkers), PostgreSQL (profiles, devices). Infrastructure & Transport: gRPC, RabbitMQ, REST, Docker / Kubernetes. What we expect Commercial experience: 3-4+ years of backend development experience (primary stack Rust and/or Go; we also welcome strong candidates with C++, Java, or Python backgrounds who are ready to quickly adopt Rust). Engineering foundation: Deep understanding of microservice architecture, message queues, and inter-service communication protocols. Database experience: Solid grasp of relational databases and column-oriented databases (ClickHouse) under high-load scenarios (metrics, logs). Agentic Developer Mindset: You enjoy and excel at collaborating with AI on a fundamentally new level. You know how to instruct agents, validate complex AI-generated architectural decisions, and automate routine tasks using AI-powered agentic systems.
