Job description

Grant Thornton is pleased to announce a vacancy for the position of Accountant DURATION: Long-term LOCATION: Tbilisi, Georgia (On-site, Client Office) SALARY RANGE: 2000-2500 GEL (net) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordination with Operation team and Subcontractors for invoicing to client, supplier POs and invoices, accruals, cash collection and supplier payments. Manage accounting records and financial reporting activities in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Group policies, and Georgian legislation. Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable balances, including preparation of reconciliations and aging reports. Review, verify, classify, and process accounting documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data. Follow up on supplier and subcontractor invoices and allocate costs to the relevant projects and cost centers Verify payroll calculations, taxes, pension contributions, and employee benefits in accordance with Georgian legislation Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax declarations, pension reports, and other statutory filings required by Georgian legislation Prepare and submit mandatory statistical reports and support SARAS reporting requirements. Coordinate with Group finance teams and ensure timely submission of reporting packages for consolidation purposes. Support external and internal audits, tax inspections, and communication with regulatory authorities. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting deadlines. Serve as the primary finance contact for the local management team and support day-to-day financial operations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in accounting and financial reporting. Strong knowledge of IFRS and Georgian tax legislation. Previous experience in an international company or multinational environment will be considered a strong advantage. Experience with group reporting and communication with foreign finance teams. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications. Experience with accounting software and ERP systems. ACCA qualifications or ongoing studies will be considered an advantage. English language proficiency at minimum B2 level (written and spoken); C1 preferred.
