## Job description

Business Operations Associate at (Tbilisi). Deadline 04 October.

04 October Business Operations Associate Tbilisi, on-site We`re hiring on behalf of an international fintech group with regulated entities across multiple jurisdictions. About the Role: We are looking for a highly motivated, curious and commercially minded person to work directly alongside our COO and become a key part of the company`s day-to-day operations. This is not a traditional assistant position defined by years of experience. We are looking for someone with the right mindset — curious, eager to learn, willing to take responsibility, and excited to grow with the business. You will be exposed to almost every part of the business — Operations, Payments, Risk, Legal, Finance, Sales, Client Management, Technology and Business Development. Your role is to help make sure the business moves every day: learning how the company works, taking ownership of tasks and projects, following up across departments, spotting bottlenecks, and gradually taking responsibility for increasingly important parts of the operation. The long-term objective is for this person to become a trusted operational partner to the COO and eventually take ownership of significant areas of the business. What You Will Do: ** Day-to-Day Operations — Work with the COO on daily priorities, chase departments and partners to get things done, track open issues, and turn meetings into clear action points. ** Business Coordination — Work across Payments, Risk, Legal, Finance, Sales, Support, Tech and BD. You`re not expected to be an expert — just to learn fast and see how it all connects. ** Bottleneck & Problem Identification — Spot where the business is losing time or money, dig into why, and tell the difference between a one-off and a systemic issue. The goal: "Here`s the problem, why it`s happening, and what I recommend we do." ** Business Improvement — As you learn the business, bring ideas: cutting manual work, better tracking, automation, and ways to reduce costs or grow revenue. What We Are Looking For: We are not primarily looking for experience — we`re looking for potential. The ideal person is extremely curious, intelligent and analytical, fast at learning, highly organized, naturally proactive, comfortable asking questions and admitting what they don`t know, persistent with follow-ups, a good communicator, commercially aware, comfortable with numbers, able to juggle multiple priorities, and unafraid of responsibility or fast-changing environments. Most importantly: a strong "figure it out" mentality. If you don`t know how something works, your reaction should be "I don`t know yet — let me find out, " not "I don`t know." Experience & Education: Previous experience in operations, business, finance, fintech or consulting is welcome but not required. We`re open to candidates early in their career who demonstrate exceptional learning ability, work ethic, analytical thinking, communication skills, initiative, organization, commercial awareness and ambition. We would rather teach the right person the business than hire the wrong person because they have a longer CV. But your English must be Fluent. The Personality We Want: This role suits someone ambitious who wants to grow faster than a traditional corporate path allows. You`ll see decisions and situations junior roles rarely get exposure to — and you`ll be expected to take responsibility. We want someone who: ** Asks why — not just what. ** Looks for solutions — not just problems. ** Follows through — not just follows up. ** Learns — rather than pretending to already know. ** Challenges things intelligently — rather than accepting "that`s how we do it." ** Takes ownership — even when something technically belongs to someone else. What You Will Learn: Practical exposure to how a modern international business operates: Payments & fintech, Risk management, Financial operations, Legal & regulatory matters, Client management, Sales & business development, Commercial strategy, Technology & automation, Organizational structure, Financial decision-making, and Business scaling. You`ll work directly with senior management, understanding not just how things are done, but why decisions are made. The First 6-12 Months Initially, the focus is on learning the business and becoming extremely reliable operationally. You`ll gradually move from: "Tell me what needs to be done" → "I know what needs to be done" → "I saw the problem coming, fixed it, and here`s what we should change so it doesn`t happen again." As your understanding and capabilities develop, your responsibilities will expand accordingly. There is significant potential for this role to develop into a Deputy COO / Operations Lead position for the right person. What Success Looks Like: Success isn`t measured by how many tasks you complete — it`s measured by how much easier it becomes for the COO and wider management team to operate the business. A successful person will eventually: ** Know what`s happening across the business without being told everything. ** Know which issues need escalation and which can be solved independently. ** Keep important projects moving and catch bottlenecks before they become major problems. ** Turn discussions into actions, and recurring problems into improved processes. ** Bring solutions rather than only questions, and take increasing ownership of the business. ** Give the COO more time to focus on strategy, growth and the bigger picture. Ultimately: you become the person the COO can trust to make things happen. The Opportunity: This is a high-exposure, high-responsibility role for someone who wants to understand business from the inside and grow into a serious management position. You will not be limited to one department or a narrow job description — if you`re capable, your responsibilities will grow with you. We are looking for someone who wants to build something — not simply someone looking for a job. If you`re reading this and thinking "that`s me" — not because you tick every box, but because
