## Job description

Role Overview: The RN Clinical Charge Nurse oversees daily unit operations, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. They practice in a clinical environment guided by evidence-based models, demonstrating accountability, teamwork, delegation, and effective communication. The role involves managing staff schedules, patient flow, clinical concerns, and participating in committees to promote departmental efficiency and excellence. Key Responsibilities Monitor equipment and resource utilization; plan staffing and patient care protocols. Assign patients considering acuity, new graduates, and float staff; review discharge and length of stay. Conduct rounds to evaluate care quality, oversee the nursing process, and ensure patient-centered, safe practices. Facilitate interdisciplinary communication, participate in performance improvement, and support evidence-based practice. Lead and mentor staff, promote professional development, and uphold compliance with regulatory standards. Manage clinical operations in emergency and routine settings, ensuring efficient patient flow and safety. Qualifications & Skills Associates or Bachelor’s Nursing degree preferred; valid RN license required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; national specialty certification preferred. Minimum one year of nursing experience; leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus. Strong clinical, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficient in technology and documentation.
