Chief Legal Officer (Public Sector)Join a Leading Public Sector Organization We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chief Legal Officer to lead the organization's legal function and provide strategic legal guidance to executive management. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior legal professional with extensive experience in public law, litigation, governance, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will oversee all legal activities, manage complex disputes, provide high-level legal advice, draft legal instruments, and ensure that organizational operations comply with applicable legislation and best governance practices. Public sector legal leaders are typically expected to combine strong technical legal expertise with integrity, leadership, and strategic decision-making capabilities. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Legal Department. Provide strategic legal advice to executive management and governing bodies. Represent the organization in judicial, administrative, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings. Manage litigation, dispute prevention, and alternative dispute resolution processes. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, legal opinions, policies, internal regulations, and official legal documents. Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance standards. Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks. Monitor legislative developments and recommend organizational actions. Coordinate external legal counsel when required. Support procurement, labor, administrative, commercial, investment, and corporate legal matters. Develop legal policies, procedures, and departmental KPIs. Mentor and develop legal professionals. Qualifications Master's Degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent). Licensed Attorney (preferred). Minimum 10 years of progressive legal experience. At least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role. Significant experience in litigation, dispute resolution, legal drafting, and legal advisory services. Strong knowledge of public, administrative, labor, civil, and contract law. Experience working with regulatory authorities and public institutions will be considered an advantage. Excellent analytical, negotiation, drafting, and communication skills. High ethical standards and professional integrity. Excellent command of English and Georgian.
