Fabrica 1900 | Tbilisi, Georgia | Full-time | Relocation Support Available About Fabrica 1900 Fabrica 1900 is one of Georgia’s leading manufacturers of corrugated cardboard packaging, serving customers across multiple industries. Our production facility operates specialized corrugating and converting equipment, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement. We are looking for an experienced Chief Technical & Maintenance Engineer to lead our technical and maintenance function and take overall responsibility for the reliability, performance, and technical development of our production facility. We welcome applications from both Georgia and international candidates. Relocation to Tbilisi, Georgia can be supported for the right candidate. About the Role This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership position for an experienced professional who understands the realities of a corrugated cardboard / corrugated packaging manufacturing environment . The successful candidate will lead the Technical & Maintenance Department and work closely with Production, Quality, Planning, Procurement, and external technical partners to ensure stable and efficient plant operations. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the Technical & Maintenance Department. Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all production equipment. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment availability and reliability. Analyze recurring equipment failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions. Lead troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems. Plan and prioritize maintenance activities according to production requirements. Manage spare parts requirements, availability, and technical inventory in cooperation with the spare parts warehouse. Maintain technical documentation, equipment history, maintenance records, and technical standards. Coordinate machine manufacturers, external service providers, and technical suppliers. Lead machinery upgrades, modernization projects, installations, and commissioning. Identify opportunities to improve machine performance, productivity, reliability, and maintenance costs. Establish and monitor technical KPIs, including downtime, equipment availability, maintenance costs, and preventive maintenance compliance. Lead, develop, and motivate the technical and maintenance team. Work closely with Production, Quality, Planning, and Procurement to support continuous improvement. Requirements Essential: Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related technical field . Proven professional experience in a corrugated cardboard, corrugated packaging, or similar paper-based packaging manufacturing plant. Significant experience in a senior technical, maintenance, engineering, or technical operations role. Strong practical knowledge of industrial production machinery and maintenance. Experience leading technical and maintenance teams. Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and root-cause analysis. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals, equipment specifications, and documentation. Experience with spare parts planning and technical inventory management. Strong problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Strong communication skills and a hands-on, results-oriented approach. Technical Experience Experience with corrugators and converting equipment is highly important. Experience with equipment such as: Corrugators Flexo folder gluers Flexographic printing machines Rotary die-cutters Flatbed die-cutters Folder-gluers Stackers Conveyors Industrial automation and PLC systems will be considered a strong advantage. Experience with machine modernization, automation upgrades, commissioning, and integration of production equipment is also highly valued. Who Should Apply?
