Chief Technology Officer

Company Description Medda is a Tbilisi-incorporated HealthTech startup with founders based in London. We are transforming how doctors work by building a specialized AI copilot. Our MVP is already complete and is currently being actively tested in multiple Georgian clinics. We are looking for a CTO to take full ownership of our technical strategy, scale our platform, and lead the engineering team as we roll out to the wider healthcare sector. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience managing a highly secure, encrypted, production-ready application that is actively solving real-world problems in the medical field. What You Will Be Doing Hands-on Engineering: As a CTO in an early-stage startup, you won't just be managing from the top. You will be actively writing code, building core features, and working directly in the trenches with the development team. Full Technical Ownership: Take complete charge of the architecture, product development lifecycle, and technical roadmap for the Medda platform. Medical Systems Integration: Lead the architecture and implementation of complex integrations between our AI assistant and existing clinic management software. Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, setting development standards and fostering a strong engineering culture. Stakeholder Management: Act as the technical face of Medda, communicating directly with clinic directors, medical staff, and investors to align tech execution with business goals. Security & Compliance: Ensure our application maintains the highest levels of encryption, data security, and compliance with medical data protection standards. What We Are Looking For: Proven experience in a Senior Engineering, Tech Lead, or existing CTO role with a track record of owning end-to-end product delivery. Deep understanding of building secure, highly scalable, production-ready applications (experience in HealthTech or handling sensitive data is a major plus). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to bridge the gap between complex engineering concepts and business needs. A hands-on leader who can actively design system architecture while guiding and growing a development team. Infrastructure bonus: General familiarity with cloud infrastructure and deployment is a strong plus. Tech Stack TypeScript for end-to-end type safety and reliable application logic. Vercel AI SDK as our core framework for managing AI and conversation flows. MongoDB as our primary database for flexible, scalable, and secure data management. React for building intuitive, responsive, and accessible frontend interfaces for medical professionals. Express for building robust and scalable backend APIs. Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for our fully cloud-native, secure deployment environment. Google Gemini for powering our underlying LLM capabilities. Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) to manage and provision our secure environments reliably.
