Thistle Services focuses on matching talent with roles that align with their skills, career goals, and work preferences. With responsive service and industry expertise, the team builds lasting partnerships between professionals and organizations. Applicants can expect a supportive, collaborative approach to securing meaningful work opportunities. Role Description This temporary remote Controls Engineer role focuses on supporting clients with the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems for industrial or technical applications. Strong skills in technical documentation, including creating schematics, control narratives, and clear project reports. Proficiency with common engineering tools and platforms (e.g., PLC IDEs, SCADA systems, version control tools) is highly beneficial. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate remotely with multidisciplinary teams and clients. Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote, temporary engagement. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards (such as NFPA, IEC, or ISO) relevant to control systems is a plus. Previous experience in consulting or contract-based engineering work is beneficial.
