## Job description

🔥 **Data Architect - Azure / Databricks**

**Elinext** is an international IT company specializing in custom software development and integration for clients worldwide. We deliver solutions across industries such as Fintech, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and others.

We are looking for a strong **Data Architect** with deep hands-on experience in **Microsoft Azure and Databricks** to join an international data transformation project.
This is a senior architecture-focused role for someone who has personally **designed, owned, and implemented complex Azure data platform architectures**.

📍 Location
**EU countries**, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, or Moldova.

Candidates should be located in the **CET time zone or close to it** and be willing to work CET hours.

✅ Key MUST-HAVE Requirements
— Proven commercial experience specifically as a **Data Architect**
— Clear experience **designing and owning overall data platform architecture**
— At least **4 years of hands-on Azure experience**
— Azure must be part of your **recent professional experience**
— Strong hands-on experience with **Azure Data Platform**
— Strong experience with **Databricks**
— Experience with **Azure Synapse**
— Experience with **Azure Data Lake**
— Experience with **Azure Data Factory**
— Strong **Python and SQL** skills
— Strong experience with **ETL / ELT**
— Experience designing and implementing **cloud data pipelines**
— Experience with **data warehouses and data models**
— Experience with **data governance, security, access control, and compliance**
— Experience with **unstructured data and multiple file formats**
— Proven experience onboarding into **complex enterprise environments**
— Strong ownership of architecture decisions and deliverables
— Ability to work at a strong delivery pace and demonstrate clear progress
— English **B2+****/C1**** preferred**

✅ Responsibilities
— Design, build, and optimize scalable data architectures using **Databricks on Azure**
— Own architecture decisions and overall Azure data platform design
— Develop and maintain robust data pipelines, data models, and warehousing structures
— Design solutions for structured and unstructured data and varied file formats
— Translate business and technical requirements into scalable architecture
— Lead the implementation of ETL/ELT frameworks
— Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance
— Guide integration of new data sources and capabilities
— Define data governance, modeling, and management standards
— Troubleshoot platform and data issues
— Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders
— Support and mentor team members on architecture and engineering best practices
— Deliver architecture activities according to agreed timelines and expectations
