Company Description JSC Rustavi Azot, founded in 1956, is one of the largest producers of fertilizers and industrial chemical products in the Caucasus region. Its key product is ammonium nitrate, a high-nitrogen fertilizer widely used in agriculture, along with sodium cyanide for gold leaching processes. The plant is located in Rustavi in the southeast of Georgia, with strong transport links via railway and Black Sea ports that support efficient exports. The company’s sales are predominantly export-oriented, offering team members exposure to international markets and industrial best practices. Role Description The DCS Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Tbilisi. The DCS Operator monitors and controls plant processes through the Distributed Control System, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment and production units. Daily tasks include adjusting process parameters, responding to alarms, coordinating with field operators, and supporting start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures. The role also involves maintaining accurate logs, following safety and environmental regulations, and collaborating with supervisors and technical teams to optimize plant performance and product quality. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Process Control skills, including experience with Distillation operations and overall plant process monitoring. Candidates should have practical experience with Distributed Control System (DCS) platforms and industrial control room operations. Candidates should bring knowledge of Refineries or similar continuous-process industrial environments. Candidates should demonstrate Supervisory Skills, including coordination with field staff and support for safe work practices. Relevant technical education in chemical engineering, process engineering, or industrial operations (vocational or degree level) is preferred. Understanding of safety standards, environmental regulations, and emergency response procedures in chemical or fertilizer production is beneficial. Ability to work in shifts, maintain focus in high-responsibility environments, and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams is required. Basic computer literacy and proficiency in using monitoring and reporting tools are advantageous.
