The Director will lead market and commercial assessments, define portfolio positioning, own the strategy arm of enterprise‑wide resourcing processes, and shape the strategic rational for major organic and inorganic growth initiatives. This Position Will Lead a Team Of Strategists In Market & Commercial Assessment: Conduct comprehensive market analyses, including commercial viability, partnering with ESS on competitive landscape, and emerging trends. Synthesize findings into actionable insights for senior leadership. Portfolio Positioning Strategy: Develop and maintain a forward‑looking portfolio positioning framework that aligns product/service offerings with market opportunities and corporate objectives. Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to guide strategy and investment decisions. Enterprise Resourcing Strategy & Process Management: Continue partnership with F&BO and the BAs on the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise resourcing model, ensuring optimal allocation across business areas. Inorganic Strategy: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize inorganic growth opportunities. Work with BAs to lead initial screening and strategic fit analysis. AI Enablement: Champion the use of AI tools for market forecasting, portfolio optimization, and resource allocation modeling. In addition to these key strategic initiatives, the Director will: Partner with senior leaders across Business Areas, F&BO, Corporate Development, LM Ventures, LM Evolve, CTO, Operations, and GBDI to ensure alignment of positioning and resourcing plans with overall corporate strategy. Lead cross‑functional workshops and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, including Business Area leadership, F&BO, BA Strategy and Business Development teams, Corporate Development, LM Ventures, LM Evolve, BA Controllers, CTO, Operations, and GBDI; and, Build, motivate, and develop a high-performing team to deliver business results. This role requires extensive travel, primarily to Bethesda, MD, and Crystal City (Arlington), VA, as well as other locations, to support SVP and ELT priorities. Desired Skills Proven ability to design and execute rigorous market and commercial assessments, rapidly distill large data sets into clear, actionable insights, and communicate those findings effectively to senior leadership.
