Mermisi School is seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated English Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an educator who is committed to developing students' English language proficiency in a supportive, engaging, and inquiry-based learning environment. Key Responsibilities Teach English as a Second Language (ESL) to students in Grades 1–6 . Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages confidence and active participation. Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners with varying English proficiency levels. Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning and student success. Participate in school meetings, professional development, and school events. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Education, TESOL, or a related field (Master's degree is an asset). Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching English in a school setting. Proven experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to primary school students. Experience teaching within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) or another IB English curriculum. Excellent spoken and written English. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Passion for inspiring young learners and fostering a love of language and literature. Preferred Qualifications Teaching certification or license. TESOL, CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent ESL certification. Experience working in an international or multicultural school environment.
