## Job description

APM Terminals HSE Business Partner At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey. At APM Terminals Poti, you will work in a terminal environment where safe, compliant and responsible operations are central to how we serve our customers and collaborate with colleagues, contractors, vendors and other stakeholders. We are looking for an HSE Business Partner to join our HSSE / ERT & Security function. Reporting to the Head of HSSE Improvement, you will act as a trusted internal consultant to the business, bringing health, safety and environmental expertise to operational and leadership decisions. You will help managers and teams integrate safe behaviours into everyday work, strengthen HSE leadership and support continuous improvement across the terminal. What We Can Offer At APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work. Contribute directly to safer, compliant and continuously improving terminal operations. Partner cross-functionally with leaders, colleagues, contractors, vendors, government representatives and union stakeholders. Develop your expertise through coaching, mentoring, training delivery and participation in HSE programmes. Allocate up to 10% of your time to supporting corporate Health, Safety and Environment projects. Key Responsibilities Partner with senior managers and operational teams to embed HSE strategy, safe behaviours and best practices into business plans, resource planning and daily operations. Support the development, implementation and maintenance of compliant HSE programmes, management systems, emergency plans, safety policies, standard operating procedures and risk assessments. Identify and mitigate operational risks, monitor improvement plans and ensure controls are practical, understood, sustainable and consistently applied. Monitor the quality of contractor and vendor risk assessments and safe working procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and APM Terminals’ global HSE standards. Coach and support significant incident investigations, monitor corrective actions, share learning and help prevent recurrence. Build effective relationships with customers, shipping lines, contractors, vendors, government agencies, trucking communities, terminal departments and union representatives. Support HSE training plans and programmes, develop capability through coaching and mentoring, and contribute to supplier contract requirements and tender assessments. What We Are Looking For Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time. Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently put customers first, lead by example with respect for people, deliver results with integrity, and drive continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in health and safety, environmental engineering, environmental science, geology or another relevant field. A relevant HSE qualification, such as the NEBOSH National Diploma, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent professional accreditation; an environmental qualification is desirable. At least three to five years of senior-level health and safety experience, with a proven track record of delivering business objectives. Strong knowledge of local and global HSE regulations, safety procedures, hazard identification and risk management. Strong influencing, negotiation, team leadership and stakeholder-management skills, supported by proficiency in English and MS Office. Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking. Maersk is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants without regard to race, colour, gender, sex, age, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy or parental leave, veteran status, gender identity, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
