## Job description

We are seeking an Integration Architect to design and govern the end-to-end integration architecture connecting the developer portal to enterprise observability, ITSM, and monitoring platforms, ensuring consistent, permission-aware visibility of service health and dependencies across the organization. Responsibilities Define the integration architecture, API contracts, data models, authentication patterns, and event flows connecting Backstage to enterprise observability, ITSM, and monitoring platforms Architect the Monitoring Integration capability, embed existing dashboards (e.g., Grafana/LGTM) per catalog entity, and establish entity-to-dashboard mapping and authentication passthrough Design the ITSM/CMDB integration, including the Configuration Item (CI) schema mapping layer, catalog-to-CMDB and ownership/tag synchronization jobs, ticket-creation flows, and reconciliation/error handling Architect the GitOps integration with ArgoCD, covering plugin integration, API authentication, entity-annotation mapping, and RBAC projection to provide deployment-status visibility within the developer portal Own the Announcements and Notifications integration, including upstream plugin configuration, notification channels such as email/Teams webhooks, and publisher RBAC Define the Databases Visibility integration for Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Postgres, and the Search integration with Elasticsearch/pgsearch backend and catalog/TechDocs indexers Architect the SDD Document Generation capability, defining how architecture documentation is generated from repository/catalog metadata and infrastructure-as-code module outputs, triggered via Backstage actions/templates Design dashboards, reporting, and enterprise-integration views spanning Backstage, Infrastructure, and Integration workstreams Collaborate with the Backstage Architect on plugin/data-model alignment and with the Azure and VMware Architects to ensure infrastructure telemetry and metadata are correctly surfaced in the portal Provide integration-architecture governance during Implementation, validate end-to-end service visibility, and support monitoring, reconciliation, and documentation-generation processes during Adoption Requirements 2+ years of experience architecting system integrations across monitoring/observability platforms, ITSM/CMDB systems, and GitOps tools such as Grafana, LGTM stack, ServiceNow, and ArgoCD Hands-on experience with ITSM and CMDB platforms, specifically ServiceNow, including Configuration Item (CI) schema design, catalog-to-CMDB synchronization, and ticket-creation workflows Skills in API design, including data contracts, authentication patterns (OIDC), and event-driven integration flows Experience integrating cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Postgres for read-only metadata/observability purposes Familiarity with search-platform integration such as Elasticsearch or pgsearch, and catalog/documentation indexing Demonstrated ability to design reconciliation and synchronization jobs between authoritative systems, such as software catalog and CMDB, with robust error handling Experience designing automated documentation-generation pipelines from structured metadata sources Nice to have Experience integrating observability and ITSM systems with a Backstage-based or comparable developer portal Familiarity with notification/communication integrations We offer We connect like-minded people Delivering innovative solutions to industry leaders, making a global impact Enjoyable working environment, whether it is the vibrant office or the comfort of your own home Opportunity to work abroad for up to two months per year Relocation opportunities within our offices in 55+ countries Corporate and social events We invest in your growth Leadership development, career advising, soft skills and well-being programs Certifications, including GCP, Azure and AWS Unlimited access to EPAM's internal learning database Free English classes with certified teachers We cover it all Participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan Monetary bonuses for engaging in the referral program Comprehensive medical & family care package Five trust days per year (sick leave without a medical certificate) Benefits package (sports activities, a variety of stores and services) EPAM is global leader in AI transformation engineering and integrated consulting, serving Forbes Global 2000 companies and ambitious startups.
