05 October No. 2026-015 OPEN TO: All Georgian Students POSITION: Intern for Public Diplomacy [6 interns requested] OPENING DATE: 21 September, 2026 CLOSING DATE: 5 October, 2026 WORK HOURS: Part-time, 20-30 hrs. per week DURATION: 6 Months NOTE: ALL APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR FOREIGN NATIONAL STUDENT INTERN PROGRAM - FNSIP FORM (in English) Applicants should indicate the vacancy for which they are applying. All information and statements submitted for an internship vacancy are subject to verification. Any willful misstatements will result in elimination for internship consideration, and if the individual is hired, subject to immediate termination irrespective of the length of internship. IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is NOT an offer of Federal Employment. There will be NO benefits. There will be NO COMPENSATION. This Internship is for current students of UNIVERSITIES in GEORGIA. BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION: Assists Social Media Team according to current needs and activities (1 intern requested): ** Supports the development of AI-assisted reports by reviewing and analyzing articles, identifying relevant information and key takeaways, and organizing findings into a template report. ** Assists with analytics by extracting and consolidating data from multiple sources and organizing/archiving it in the required format. ** Supports photography and videography assignments, depending on existing skills and willingness to learn. ** Responds to inquiries received through official online platforms. Assists Press and Media Team according to current needs and activities (2 interns requested): ** Monitors and reports on Russian-language news. ** Supports day-to-day activities, such as transcribing and translating longer speeches by high-ranking officials. ** During periods of high media activity, monitors assigned broadcasts to help understand the overall media landscape. ** Assists with drafting media summaries on specific topics, as assigned. ** Assists with media events, including escorting guests. Assists Cultural Team according to current needs and activities (3 interns requested): ** Monitors media and conducts research related to cultural and educational issues. ** Attends and helps organize cultural and educational events on behalf of staff. ** Assists with review of grants proposals during the administering cycle. ** Drafts correspondence on behalf of the Embassy. ** Assists with planning and hosting events in the Embassy iSpace, and virtual programming. ** Attends events on behalf of the Embassy and prepares written reports. ** Assists with the planning and coordination of activities at American Spaces. ** Assists with program outreach. ** Assists with translation from English to Georgian and vice versa. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Must be a student at any higher education institution in Georgia, advanced in studies toward a university degree, with a major including, but not limited to: ** Social Media Intern: International Relations, Journalism, Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Law, or a related field. ** Press and Media Intern: International Relations, Journalism, Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Law, or a related field. ** Cultural Team Intern: International Relations, American Studies, English Language. ** Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing in Georgian and English is required. Working knowledge of Russian is an asset for the Social Media and Press/Media positions. ** Must be available to work 20-30 hours per week. ** Must have a good understanding of the political systems and foreign policies of Georgia and the United States, as well as Georgia`s media landscape (Social Media and Press/Media positions). ** Must have experience using and engaging with social media tools and platforms (Social Media position). ** Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, AI tools. ** Must possess good research, writing, analytical, and organizational skills, with close attention to detail. ** Must have access to internet and a personal smart phone and computer to telework when the Embassy`s operating status does not permit in-person work; must also be available to work at the Embassy in Tbilisi when the Embassy is at normal operating status.
