## Job description

The IT Infrastructure Architect serves as the end-to-end technical and organizational lead for Iterra Group’s infrastructure projects. The role is responsible for translating client business requirements into robust technical architectures, planning and coordinating project delivery, managing technical teams, and ensuring the successful implementation and handover of solutions. The Architect takes direct ownership of projects, delegates tasks to Senior Specialists, and oversees the work of both internal engineering teams and external contractors throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Technical Project Ownership: Lead infrastructure projects end-to-end, from requirements gathering and pre-sales through implementation, testing, customer acceptance, and final handover. Architecture & Solution Design: Develop detailed architectures for server, storage, SAN/NAS, HCI, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery solutions. Team Leadership: Define, delegate, coordinate, and oversee tasks assigned to Senior Infrastructure & Virtualization Engineers, other technical specialists, and external contractors. Sizing, BOM & TCO: Prepare performance and capacity sizing using vendor tools and internal templates, develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), and conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses. Implementation Oversight: Ensure that implementation activities remain aligned with the approved design, delivery timelines, quality standards, and agreed Scope of Work. Risk & Change Management: Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, and changes; drive timely resolution and escalate critical matters to the CTO when required. Standards & Documentation: Develop and continuously improve reference architectures, implementation playbooks, design documents, Statements of Work, and project delivery and handover standards. Vendor Management & Technical Coordination: Maintain technical collaboration with key technology vendors, monitor product and technology roadmaps, escalate complex technical issues, and engage additional vendor resources when necessary. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Support the professional development of Senior Engineers and other technical team members, lead technical reviews, and conduct retrospective analyses of completed projects to capture lessons learned and improve future delivery. Core Technology Ares: Enterprise Server and Storage Systems SAN / NAS Architectures VMware vSphere / vSAN Nutanix AOS / AHV Backup Appliances and Backup Software Disaster Recovery and Data Center–Disaster Recovery (DC–DR) Architectures Synchronous and Asynchronous Replication Infrastructure Migration and Modernization Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise-grade IT infrastructure solutions. Proven experience leading at least two large-scale HCI or complex virtualization projects at the architectural level. Senior-level expertise in VMware vSphere/vSAN and Nutanix AOS/AHV. In-depth knowledge of DC–DR architectures, migration strategies, backup and retention practices, and high-availability principles. Hands-on experience in project team leadership, including task delegation, prioritization, coordination, and performance oversight. Strong ability to prepare technical and project documentation, including BOMs, HLDs/LLDs, Statements of Work (SOW), Implementation Plans, Migration Plans, and As-Built documentation. Strong consulting, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to clients and stakeholders. Working proficiency in Georgian and English; knowledge of Russian will be considered an advantage. Relevant vendor or industry professional certifications will be considered an advantage. Managerial Competencies: Take full accountability for project delivery and drive teams toward successful outcomes. Motivate team members, support their professional development, and provide clear, constructive feedback. Make sound technical decisions in situations involving incomplete information, ambiguity, and time pressure. Effectively align the interests and expectations of clients, the CTO, sales teams, technology vendors, and technical specialists. Identify risks at an early stage and maintain clear, transparent, and timely communication regarding project status, challenges, and dependencies. Reporting & Collaboration: The position reports directly to the CTO. The IT Infrastructure Architect independently leads infrastructure projects, manages the work of Senior Infrastructure & Virtualization Engineers, and, when required, defines the Scope of Work for additional external contractors. The CTO is involved in the final approval of solution designs and in the resolution of critical technical or project escalations.
