Role Description This full-time IT Support Specialist role is an on-site position based in Tbilisi at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. The IT Support Specialist will provide day-to-day technical support to faculty, staff, and students, including resolving hardware and software issues on desktop computers and related devices. Responsibilities include responding to help desk requests, diagnosing and troubleshooting IT problems, installing and configuring systems and applications, and ensuring stable network and workstation performance. The role also involves maintaining documentation of support activities, assisting with user training on basic IT tools, and collaborating with the broader IT team to improve support processes and system reliability. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Technical Support and Help Desk Support skills, with experience in user assistance and ticket handling. Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Candidates should possess practical knowledge of Desktop Computers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and peripherals. Candidates should possess a broad understanding of Information Technology fundamentals, such as networks, security basics, and common enterprise applications. Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Strong communication skills, customer-oriented mindset, and the ability to work effectively in an academic environment. Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritize tasks. Familiarity with common operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), university IT environments, and knowledge of local language and English will be beneficial.
