## Job description

💻 IT System Engineer | Infrastructure & Security

We are looking for an experienced IT System Engineer to join a freelance project and support the stable operation of our client's internal IT infrastructure during a major modernization initiative.

🌍 Location: EU-based candidates only
💼 Format: Freelance / project-based
🗣 Language: English - fluent

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

* Operate and maintain Windows and Linux server environments
* Support VMware and Dell EMC VxRail infrastructure
* Manage software deployment, patching, and OS hardening for 1,000+ endpoints
* Support Windows and macOS endpoint environments
* Investigate and resolve 2nd-level security incidents
* Administer Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
* Manage endpoint security, firewalls, VPNs, backup, and recovery processes
* Operate and improve monitoring and alerting
* Handle incidents, service requests, and joiner/mover/leaver processes
* Perform regular system maintenance
* Maintain technical documentation and support knowledge transfer

✅ Requirements:

* 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT system administration
* Must be based in the European Union
* Strong experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
* Experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS
* Experience with Microsoft Entra ID
* Strong background in client and endpoint management
* Experience with enterprise software deployment and patch management
* Hands-on experience in security operations, including endpoint security, firewalls, and incident triage
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Fluent English
