Company Description Ilia State University (ISU), located in Tbilisi, Georgia, is a modern public higher education institution formed in 2006 through the merger of six educational and research organizations. ISU consists of four Schools—Arts and Sciences, Business, Law, and Engineering—offering a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs. Role Description The Junior IT Project Manager will support the planning, coordination, and execution of IT initiatives within Ilia State University. This full-time, on-site role is based in Tbilisi and involves assisting senior project managers with defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables for technology-related projects. Daily tasks include tracking project progress, preparing status reports, coordinating meetings with stakeholders, and helping to manage project documentation and risks. The role also requires close collaboration with IT teams, faculty, and administrative staff to ensure that systems and solutions meet user needs and align with university priorities. The Junior IT Project Manager will contribute to continuous improvement of IT processes and support the successful implementation of digital transformation efforts. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify issues, and support evidence-based decision-making. Candidates should possess Program Management and Project Planning skills to assist in organizing tasks, scheduling activities, and monitoring project milestones. Candidates should possess Information Technology knowledge to understand basic IT systems, software, and infrastructure relevant to academic environments. Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and prepare clear reports and documentation. Candidates should ideally have a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or a related field (or be in the final year of such a program). Candidates should be able to work collaboratively, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced academic setting. Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, MS Project) and familiarity with standard methodologies (such as Agile or Waterfall) is beneficial. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Georgian, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, is highly desirable.
