Lead Communication Designer
Job description
Salmon is a technology-driven financial company building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines. In three years, we've grown to 7M+ app downloads, 2M+ monthly active users, 7000+ partner stores, and US$350M+ raised from top-tier investors. Here, you get real ownership from day one, high standards, and direct communication. You'll work alongside a team that combines deep local knowledge and experience scaling regulated financial companies from scratch. If you want to solve complex problems at scale and directly impact how millions of people access and manage money, come build with us. Southeast Asia's fintech moment starts here. About The Role You'll own the visual language of Salmon's marketing communications — setting direction, raising quality standards, and leading a team of 3–5 designers while staying close to the craft yourself. What You'll Do Define and evolve visual communication standards across digital campaigns, paid media, web and mobile surfaces, and offline formats — working across Brand, Growth, Product, and Marketing. Lead cross-functional collaboration: align on priorities with Product, Engineering, and Growth; represent the design perspective in strategic discussions; ensure coherent delivery across every channel and touchpoint. Drive AI tool adoption within the team — identify the right tools, build workflows, run onboarding, and set the standard for effective AI-assisted production. What You'll Own Manage and develop 3–5 communication designers: set priorities, give specific actionable feedback, and build individual skills. Lead campaign design end-to-end across digital channels (social, email, paid) and offline formats (OOH, print), maintaining visual coherence at high output volume. Own communication design across web and mobile surfaces — landing pages, web banners, app store assets, and responsive email — in close collaboration with Product and Engineering. Build and maintain design processes: briefing flows, review standards, production handoffs — making the work faster and more consistent. Partner with Growth and Product on onboarding flows, push notifications, in-app messaging, and other product communication touchpoints. Contribute to Brand team projects — brand identity work, visual guidelines, and cross-functional initiatives where communication design and brand intersect. What makes you a strong fit 5+ years in communication design, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or senior role Proven experience managing designers and delivering specific, actionable feedback Background in an IT product company — you understand how design works alongside engineering and within agile teams Strong portfolio showing campaign work across digital and offline channels, ideally in financial services or another IT product company Deep command of visual hierarchy, typography, and layout; experience designing clearly in a compliance-heavy environment Hands-on experience designing for web and mobile: responsive layouts, web banners, app store assets, mobile-first communications Practical experience with AI design tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Runway, or similar) and a clear interest in evolving team workflows through them Proficiency in Figma; experience with 3D production (Cinema 4D, Blender, or in a creative direction capacity) is a strong plus
