## Job description

Role Overview: The Medical Technologist II performs clinical laboratory testing across various areas including General Lab and Blood Bank, under supervision. They ensure accuracy, quality assurance, and adherence to protocols, serving as a generalist or subject matter expert. Responsibilities include analyzing blood and body fluids, maintaining equipment, documenting activities, and troubleshooting issues. They may act as a supervisor in their absence, train staff, and assist with instrument maintenance and quality control. Additional duties involve participating in proficiency studies, maintaining compliance with CAP and accreditation standards, and supporting laboratory operations. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Health Science, or related field (Master’s preferred) Certified as MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(HEW), MT(AAB), MLS(ASCP), or MLS(AMT) upon hire Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist Proficiency in computer/data entry, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and basic computer skills Strong communication skills for effective team collaboration Key Duties Perform routine and specialized testing in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, microbiology, urinalysis, and coagulation Ensure quality control, safety, and documentation compliance Maintain laboratory equipment, logs, and reagent inventory Train new staff and support continuous improvement initiatives Participate in proficiency testing, instrument calibration, and regulatory readiness Assist with blood bank operations, including blood product management and STAT testing
