## Job description

Role Overview: The RN Resident is responsible for completing a 12-month Nurse Residency Program, supporting a smooth transition into professional nursing practice for new graduates with less than 6 months of experience. Key Responsibilities Provide individualized, high-quality patient care following current standards and evidence-based practices. Coordinate care within an interprofessional team, engaging patients and families as active partners. Participate in orientation phases, including system, core, specialty onboarding, and monthly NRP sessions. Utilize critical thinking, clinical skills, and the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation). Support performance improvement, research activities, and evidence-based practice initiatives. Serve as a preceptor or mentor to foster workforce development and model professional nursing standards. Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Qualifications & Skills Minimum education: Diploma or Bachelor's in Nursing from an accredited program. Licenses: Active RN license (single state or multi-state compact), BLS certification. Experience: Less than 1 year of RN experience required. Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, time management, and computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office, Epic, and 3M preferred. Additional Requirements: Ability to read, write, and speak English; ability to respond effectively in fast-paced or emergency situations; commitment to professional development and collaborative teamwork.
