## Job description

Role Overview: The Nuclear Medicine technologist provides safe, age-appropriate patient care by performing diagnostic and therapeutic exams following department protocols. They independently operate imaging equipment, set up procedures, and position patients to ensure high-quality diagnostic studies. The role involves evaluating patient conditions, administering radiopharmaceuticals, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient privacy and comfort. Key Responsibilities Verify clinician orders, obtain patient history, and assess contraindications. Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely, ensuring proper identification and markers. Review images for quality, respond to emergencies, and assist with procedures. Explain procedures to patients, address questions, and maintain patient dignity. Operate and maintain imaging equipment, perform quality control, and troubleshoot malfunctions. Coordinate patient transport, prep, and support staff as needed. Document procedures accurately, complete required reports, and ensure compliance with standards. Participate in departmental training, support team members, and perform clerical duties. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and restock supplies. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Certifications: ARRT-R or CNMT, and BLS certification. Minimum one year of clinical patient care experience; nuclear medicine experience preferred. Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and perform effectively under pressure. Attention to detail, multitasking ability, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Additional Notes: The role requires independent judgment, technical proficiency, and the ability to mentor staff. The position may involve call duties and participation in ongoing education to maintain competency.
