Company Description Askaneli, founded in 1998 by the Chkhaidze brothers, is a leading Georgian wine and spirits producer rooted in the historic village of Askana in the Guria region. The company continues a family winemaking tradition dating back to the 19th century, using both traditional Georgian methods in clay vessels (Kvevri) and modern technologies. Askaneli owns extensive vineyards and operates two winemaking facilities in Kakheti and Tbilisi, as well as a fruit distillery in Guria. The company produces more than 60 types of wine, along with aged brandy, chacha, and brut, and ranks among the top three winemaking organizations in Georgia. Applicants can expect to join a business that values heritage, innovation, and the revitalization of unique Georgian grape varieties. Role Description This Paid Trainee internship role is an on-site position based in Tbilisi. The trainee will support daily operations at the winemaking facility, assisting with production processes, quality checks, and basic documentation under the guidance of experienced team members. Responsibilities may include observing and learning about viticulture and winemaking techniques, helping with inventory tasks, and supporting routine administrative work. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues across production and office functions, maintaining safety and hygiene standards, and participating in training sessions designed to develop knowledge of the wine and spirits industry. Qualifications Interest in viticulture, winemaking, or the broader food and beverage industry, with a willingness to learn and develop professionally. Strong basic organizational and time-management abilities to support daily operational and administrative tasks. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, on-site team environment. Attention to detail and readiness to follow safety, quality, and hygiene procedures in production settings. Basic computer literacy to assist with record-keeping and reporting. Relevant education or ongoing studies in fields such as agriculture, food technology, or business, are an advantage. Ability to work on-site in Tbilisi and adapt to a dynamic environment with both physical and desk-based tasks.
