## Job description

Role Overview: The Perfusionist performs advanced technical functions to support and manage the patient's cardiopulmonary and circulatory systems during cardiac procedures. They operate, maintain, and troubleshoot perfusion equipment, including cardiopulmonary bypass systems, ECMO devices, and other circulatory support tools. Key Responsibilities Prepare and assemble perfusion equipment and supplies for surgical procedures. Accurately document procedures and patient data, adjusting therapy as needed. Manage equipment maintenance, cleanliness, and inventory. Support, treat, and monitor the patient's cardiopulmonary status, reacting appropriately to critical situations. Collaborate with physicians, providing data interpretation and clinical support. Perform ECMO coverage, intra-hospital transport, and respond to emergency needs. Communicate effectively with team members and patients, demonstrating professionalism and inclusiveness. Adhere to organizational policies, standards, and conduct guidelines. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree and completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion Program. Minimum three years of relevant experience preferred. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and perfusion practices. Ability to work in a team, handle emergencies, and communicate effectively. Certification as a Georgia Clinical Perfusionist and BLS/BLS-Instructor or Provisional certification. For new graduates, completion of American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion certification within 12 months.
