## Job description

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering precise ionizing radiation therapy to patients following physician prescriptions. Responsibilities Operate radiation equipment safely, adhering to radiation safety measures. Participate in Quality Control monitoring and ensure accurate patient setup and simulation. Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide specialty care across all age groups. Document treatment details accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Educate patients and families about treatment side effects and use of treatment aids. Follow protocols to ensure safety for self and patients, including wearing radiation badges and universal precautions. Assist with patient scheduling, notify patients of changes, and manage patient mobility and fall precautions. Participate in on-call rotation and serve as a clinical instructor for students, providing evaluations and feedback. Report adverse reactions and equipment discrepancies promptly and perform additional assigned tasks. Qualifications Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited program. ARRT-T Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification are required. Minimum of 2 years radiation therapy experience preferred. Ability to treat and simulate patients effectively. Skills: Technical proficiency in operating radiation therapy equipment, patient assessment, safety practices, and documentation.
