## Job description

Role Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Care, Orthopedic Surgery, provides high-quality, individualized patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team. They practice in a clinical environment guided by evidence-based standards, professional models, and shared governance, ensuring safe and effective care while upholding nursing ethics and policies. Key Responsibilities: Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and evidence-based practice. Deliver patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations, respecting cultural differences. Partner with patients and families through communication methods like bedside reports and teaching to align care with patient goals. Promote teamwork, coordinate safe care delivery, document effectively, and support a respectful, inclusive environment. Participate in performance improvement, research, and evidence-based initiatives to enhance quality and safety. Mentor colleagues and serve as a resource, fostering professional growth and a healthy work environment. Adhere to policies, clinical standards, and legal regulations, including accreditation requirements. Qualifications & Skills: Minimum education: Nursing diploma or associate degree; bachelor’s preferred. Licenses & Certifications: Current RN license (single state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required upon hiring. Experience with direct patient care preferred. Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills. Ability to use technology effectively in a fast-paced environment is essential.
