## Job description

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care in accordance with physician orders and clinical standards. They act as a care coordinator, developing and evaluating patient care plans, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. The role involves performing invasive and non-invasive procedures, managing respiratory medications, and serving as a consultant across hospital service lines. Key Responsibilities Administer and manage respiratory treatments and procedures. Develop, evaluate, and modify patient care plans using evidence-based guidelines. Participate in patient rounds, quality improvement projects, and clinical research. Assist in emergency procedures, establishing artificial airways, and participating in Rapid Response teams. Educate patients, families, and clinical staff; facilitate patient discharge and home care planning. Maintain certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT) and ensure compliance with policies. Operate and maintain clinical equipment, perform routine maintenance, and ensure infection control. Contribute to clinical documentation and effective communication within the care team. Qualifications & Skills Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Current Georgia Respiratory Care Professional license and all required certifications. Minimum of 2 years in Critical Care preferred. Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask, work under stress, and adapt quickly to changing situations. Proficiency in computer skills, including Word and Excel. Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
