They serve as a workgroup leader and unit coordinator, developing and evaluating care plans, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and providing patient and family education. Key Responsibilities Act as Care Coordinator for the assigned unit, ensuring evidence-based, protocol-driven care. Perform invasive and non-invasive critical procedures with competency. Serve as a respiratory consultant across hospital service lines and participate in daily patient rounds. Maintain knowledge of respiratory medications, pharmacology, and clinical chemistries. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical research activities. Assist in patient discharge planning and provide education to patients and families. Train and orient new employees and students, and educate clinical team members. Maintain certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT. Participate in emergency response teams and ensure infection control compliance. Document accurately and effectively communicate patient information during handoffs. Qualifications & Skills Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Current state Respiratory Care Professional license and necessary certifications. Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to multitask, work under stress, and adapt quickly. Proficiency in clinical procedures, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
