They independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, analyze arterial blood gases, and educate patients, families, and staff. The role emphasizes delivering safe, high-quality care while promoting a collaborative team environment and supporting continuous professional development. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate with healthcare team members for care planning. Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and perform airway procedures including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care. Conduct pulmonary diagnostics, arterial blood gas sampling, and assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures. Educate patients, families, and new staff; promote evidence-based practices and performance improvement initiatives. Ensure documentation accuracy, promote patient safety, and adhere to policies and standards. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program, with an associate’s degree required and a bachelor’s preferred. 0-2 years of clinical experience, including at least 6 months in critical care. Current licensure and certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, including instructor certifications.
