## Job description

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, primarily in critical care settings, performing assessments, ventilator management, medication administration, and patient education. Responsibilities include collaborating with healthcare teams, ensuring patient safety, and supporting staff development. The role involves independent decision-making and participation in invasive and non-invasive procedures, along with mentoring new employees and students. Key Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive patient care, documentation, and education Perform patient assessments and collaborate on care planning Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and interpret waveforms Manage airway procedures including intubation and tracheostomy care Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis Promote a safe environment through accurate charting, medication safety, and quality initiatives Support performance improvement and evidence-based practices Educate patients, families, peers, and students Perform other duties as assigned, complying with policies and standards Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program; Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care Excellent communication, critical thinking, and computer skills Registered Respiratory Therapist licensed and certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
