## Job description

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings. They manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, analyze blood gases, and educate patients and staff. The role involves independent decision-making, protocol adherence, and participation in invasive/non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams. Administer aerosolized medications, bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, and manage ventilators, including weaning and waveform interpretation. Perform arterial blood gas sampling, airway management, and assist with invasive procedures. Educate patients and mentor new employees, students, and peers. Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practices. Maintain accurate documentation and support a positive, team-oriented work environment. Comply with organizational policies and standards. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy. Licenses and certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP. 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care. Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills, with the ability to build professional relationships.
