Acts as a care coordinator, developing and evaluating treatment plans, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and serving as a respiratory consultant across hospital departments. Key Responsibilities Develops and modifies respiratory care plans using evidence-based practices and protocols. Demonstrates proficiency in invasive and non-invasive procedures, manages artificial airways, and monitors respiratory medications and diagnostics such as ABGs and electrolytes. Participates in quality improvement, patient discharge planning, and provides education to patients, families, and clinical staff. Assists in employee orientation, maintains certifications (BLS, ACLS), and ensures documentation accuracy. Prioritizes care during high-acuity situations, uses hospital information systems effectively, and adheres to infection control policies. Performs equipment maintenance, participates in patient transports, and performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s preferred. Licenses & Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS, and state respiratory care license required upon hire. Minimum of 1 year of respiratory care experience; 2+ years in critical care preferred. Skills in basic respiratory modalities, ventilator management, tracheostomy care, ABG collection, and EKG; endotracheal intubation and bronchoscopy assist preferred.
