Acts as a leader and care coordinator by developing, evaluating, and modifying respiratory plans of care, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians. Demonstrates expertise in invasive and non-invasive procedures, manages respiratory medications, and stays current with industry practices. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement respiratory care plans across various settings. Serve as a respiratory consultant within hospital departments. Manage clinical procedures, equipment, and point-of-care analyzers. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient education. Mentor new staff and students, ensuring compliance with certifications and hospital policies. Prioritize care during high-acuity situations and ensure accurate documentation. Use hospital information systems proficiently and follow infection prevention protocols. Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist in patient transports. Qualifications & Skills Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's preferred. RRT certification, current BLS, ACLS, and Georgia Respiratory Care Professional license required. Minimum of 1 year in respiratory care; 2+ years in critical care preferred. Skills in ventilator management, tracheostomy care, ABG collection, and EKG interpretation.
