They act as a care coordinator and leader, developing and modifying care plans, collaborating with healthcare teams, and serving as a respiratory consultant across hospital departments. Key Responsibilities Develop, evaluate, and adjust respiratory care plans using evidence-based protocols. Administer invasive and non-invasive procedures, manage artificial airways, and monitor respiratory medications. Participate in quality improvement, patient discharge planning, and provide education to patients, families, and clinical staff. Assist in clinical orientation and training of new employees and students. Prioritize care during high-acuity situations, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain clinical equipment. Utilize hospital information systems effectively and follow infection prevention protocols. Qualifications & Skills Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s preferred. Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS, and Georgia Respiratory Care Professional required. Minimum of 1 year of respiratory care experience; 2+ years in critical care preferred. Proficiency in basic respiratory modalities, ventilator care, ABG collection, EKG, and intubation (preferred). Additional Requirements: Demonstrated competency in critical procedures, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
