Job description

A Retention Strategist role, built for someone who wants full ownership of the accounts that actually move the needle. You'll be the strategic backbone behind 40 to 50 DTC ecommerce brands, setting the roadmap, guiding execution, and making the calls that shape how these brands grow LTV through email and SMS. This isn't a support role sitting behind an account manager. You'll have full control over strategy on the largest, most complex accounts in the portfolio, working directly with account managers to turn quarterly plans into monthly sprints that actually hit revenue targets. Expect a mix of client strategy calls, data deep dives, and hands-on coaching, all inside a team built around speed and ownership. This is a fully remote, full-time contractor role with core crossover hours of 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM AEST. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU Real ownership: full strategic control over the largest, most complex accounts in the portfolio Growth path: a direct hand in scaling the strategist department as the agency grows Performance bonus: quarterly bonus tied to your own results Home office support: $1,000 WFH allowance to set yourself up properly Travel covered: travel allowance included, plus an annual in-person team trip Ongoing development: weekly training and upskilling sessions built into the role WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO Own the strategic roadmap for 40 to 50 client accounts, with the bulk of your focus on the largest and most complex ones Lead quarterly strategy reviews and translate them into monthly execution sprints Guide and support account managers, making sure strategy gets executed at a high standard Dig into client data to spot problems, constraints, and opportunities before they become issues Build and review lifecycle flows and campaigns across the full retention stack Track LTV lift, repeat purchase rate, email attributed revenue, and LTV:CAC to prove what's working Collaborate with copywriters, designers, and email developers to keep execution sharp Join client calls (quarterly at minimum, more frequently for higher-value accounts) alongside async Slack communication WHO YOU ARE You've got 3+ years of experience in retention marketing for DTC ecommerce brands You are deeply familiar with Klaviyo and know how to build strategy around it, not just execute inside it You are comfortable owning outcomes on large, complex accounts without needing constant oversight You are naturally curious and quick to dig into the "why" behind a metric or a problem You've got sharp attention to detail and hold your own work to a high standard You communicate clearly, both with clients and with the team executing your strategy You are organized enough to manage a large portfolio without things slipping through the cracks You can work from 1pm AEST at the latest, in full 8-hour shifts
