## Job description

Role Summary: The RN - Acute Care - Ortho Surgical is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team, providing individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care in a clinical environment. They practice according to the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, and evidence-based standards, ensuring system policies and service excellence. Key Responsibilities Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and evidence-based practice. Deliver relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations and cultural needs. Partner with patients and families, utilizing effective communication methods such as bedside reports and interdisciplinary rounds. Coordinate safe, quality care through accurate documentation and collaboration with healthcare team members. Support performance improvement initiatives, research, and evidence-based practice to enhance patient outcomes. Mentor and serve as preceptor to new staff and students, fostering a professional and healthy work environment. Participate in protocol development, resource management, and data collection to improve care quality. Qualifications & Skills Associate or Bachelor's Nursing degree preferred. Active RN license (single-state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required. Less than one year of clinical experience is preferred, with completion of accredited nursing program as a minimum. Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and commitment to professional development. Additional notes: The role emphasizes compassionate, culturally sensitive care, adherence to regulatory standards, and active participation in a collaborative healthcare environment.
