## Job description

Role Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) in acute care, specifically for orthopedic surgical units, is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality, safe, patient-centered care. They practice in a clinical environment supported by leadership and evidence-based standards, ensuring adherence to nursing regulations and ethical codes. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation using evidence-based practices and critical thinking. Provide individualized, relationship-based care tailored to patient populations, respecting cultural diversity. Partner with patients and their families through effective communication, education, and shared decision-making. Coordinate safe, quality care via interdisciplinary collaboration, timely documentation, and promoting a respectful environment. Support performance improvement initiatives, research activities, and evidence-based practice to enhance patient outcomes. Serve as a preceptor or mentor to foster professional growth and a healthy work environment. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and legal requirements. Qualifications & Skills Associate or Bachelor of Nursing (preferred). Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required. Experience in direct patient care preferred. Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with healthcare technology and documentation.
