Senior Agricultural Statistics Expert NTU International is preparing a proposal for the EU-funded project “ EU Assistance for the Uzbekistan AgriFood Development Strategy 2020–2030 ”, which aims to support the Government of Uzbekistan in the implementation of a sustainable, market-oriented, inclusive and climate-smart agri-food system. The project focuses on strengthening policy and regulatory frameworks, institutional capacities, and public sector governance in support of the Agri-Food Development Strategy 2020–2030. The Technical Assistance will support strengthening of agricultural statistics systems, evidence-based policy development, data governance, and statistical capacities related to the agri-food sector in Uzbekistan. NTU International is seeking a Senior Agricultural Statistics Expert to support agricultural statistics systems, data management frameworks, and evidence-based monitoring and policy development related to the implementation of the Uzbekistan AgriFood Development Strategy 2020–2030. Key Responsibilities Support strengthening and modernisation of agricultural statistics systems and institutional data management frameworks; Provide technical assistance on agricultural data collection methodologies, statistical systems, and sector monitoring tools; Support development of statistical indicators, agricultural databases, and evidence-based monitoring frameworks; Conduct analyses related to agricultural production, rural development, food systems, and agri-food sector performance; Advise public institutions on agricultural statistical standards, data quality assurance, and information management systems; Support harmonisation of agricultural statistics methodologies with international standards and reporting requirements; Contribute to preparation of statistical analyses, sector reports, technical studies, and policy monitoring frameworks; Coordinate with Ministries, statistical agencies, research institutions, and development partners; Deliver workshops, technical training, and capacity-building activities related to agricultural statistics and data systems; Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of agri-food sector reforms and statistical system strengthening initiatives. Education Master’s degree in statistics, agricultural economics, economics, data science, econometrics, or another relevant field. General Professional Experience Minimum 10 years of professional experience in agricultural statistics, statistical systems, data analysis, or evidence-based policy development; Proven experience working on agricultural, rural development, or statistical reform projects in developing or transition economies; Experience in international development cooperation and donor-funded programmes. Specific Professional Experience Minimum 7 years of experience in agricultural statistics systems, statistical methodologies, or agri-food sector data analysis; Demonstrated experience with agricultural surveys, statistical databases, monitoring systems, or sector performance indicators; Experience related to food security statistics, farm data systems, GIS-based agricultural data, or digital statistical platforms is considered an advantage; Experience supporting projects financed by the EU, World Bank, FAO, IFAD, ADB, UN agencies, or other international financial institutions is considered a strong asset; Experience working with National Statistical Offices, Ministries of Agriculture, research institutions, or international organisations is considered an advantage; Experience in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, or post-Soviet countries is considered an asset. Languages English (C1 mandatory); Working knowledge of Russian is considered a strong asset. Please note that inclusion in the expert pool does not guarantee immediate assignment.
