Senior Platform Engineer
Job description
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our team and drive the administration, governance, and automation of our Data Lake and Azure Databricks platforms. Your work will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that support SAP's cloud operations, enterprise analytics, and machine learning initiatives. Responsibilities Administer and manage Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Databricks workspaces Implement and enforce access management policies leveraging RBAC and Entra ID Apply Databricks governance concepts, including Unity Catalog, access control, and data lineage Develop automation scripts and integrate with REST APIs to configure and monitor the platform Ensure platform operational health by monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting Collaborate with global stakeholders to establish platform standards and governance frameworks Optimize platform performance and resolve technical issues effectively Document processes, best practices, and guidelines for platform usage Contribute to the design and enhancement of the data lake infrastructure to support evolving business needs Requirements 3+ years of professional experience in Platform Engineering or related roles Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, specifically Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 and Azure Databricks Knowledge of Azure access management techniques such as RBAC and Entra ID Background in Databricks governance, with expertise in Unity Catalog's catalog management, access control, and data lineage Advanced skills in Python for scripting and automation Proficiency in working with REST APIs for platform configuration and administration Understanding of DevOps principles, including incident management, monitoring, and operational health Experience in enterprise-grade environments with distributed, globally diverse teams Competency in analyzing and solving complex technical challenges with attention to detail English language proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher Nice to have Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or SAFe Background in Databricks workspace configuration, job orchestration, and cluster policy management Showcase of contributions to platform standards, governance solutions, or shared automation resources Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates Understanding of CI/CD workflows and DevOps toolchain implementation We offer We connect like-minded people Delivering innovative solutions to industry leaders, making a global impact Enjoyable working environment, whether it is the vibrant office or the comfort of your own home Opportunity to work abroad for up to two months per year Relocation opportunities within our offices in 55+ countries Corporate and social events We invest in your growth Leadership development, career advising, soft skills and well-being programs Certifications, including GCP, Azure and AWS Unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning and Udemy Free English classes with certified teachers We cover it all Participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan Monetary bonuses for engaging in the referral program Comprehensive medical & family care package Five trust days per year (sick leave without a medical certificate) Benefits package (sports activities, a variety of stores and services) EPAM Georgia is a team of innovators united by a passion for technology.
