## Job description

Role Overview: This position involves providing safe, age-appropriate diagnostic imaging procedures with independence and technical expertise. The technologist sets up equipment, positions patients, and performs a variety of ultrasound exams, ensuring high-quality images while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Key Responsibilities Verify clinician orders and obtain complete clinical histories. Properly identify patients and ensure correct use of markers. Assist in procedures, respond to emergencies, and evaluate patient conditions. Explain procedures to patients using effective communication techniques. Ensure equipment calibration, perform quality control, and send studies to PACS. Maintain department cleanliness, restock supplies, and support departmental operations. Operate ultrasound equipment, adjust techniques to minimize radiation dose, and report malfunctions. Adhere to infection control policies and regulatory standards. Qualifications & Skills High School Diploma or GED; Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree preferred. Certification: ARDMS or ARRT-S required upon hire; BLS certification also required. Minimum one year of clinical ultrasound experience; graduate of an accredited program preferred. Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and under pressure, detail-oriented, and excellent customer service skills. Flexibility, dependability, and ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
