We work on infrastructure financed by international financial institutions across Central Asia and neighbouring regions, covering water and wastewater, district heating, transport, solid waste and energy. Our assignments include project implementation support, with detailed design and construction supervision, alongside procurement support and institutional development. We're a small, specialist firm working with international consulting partners and regional experts. You'll have direct access to experienced colleagues and the knowledge accumulated through our project work. The role We are looking for a freelancer. You'll prepare IFI tender proposals and grant applications, initially under the leadership and review of our experts. You'll also help organise our corporate knowledge and improve the writing process so we can produce submissions efficiently and to Forlog's high standard. There is a path to owning and leading technical writing within the organisation. Progression into that responsibility will come with a salary increase, based on demonstrated readiness and an agreed expansion of the role. Increased working time can be discussed separately. What you'll do - Draft proposals and grant applications from expert input, addressing submission requirements and evaluation criteria. - Check sources and consistency with work plans and budgets; flag missing information and resolve review comments. - Maintain reusable content and templates, including project references and expert CV text, with the relevant colleagues. - Prepare complete, consistently formatted documents and coordinate review around strict deadlines. - Improve preparation time and cost while maintaining quality, using approved AI tools carefully with source checking and human review. What we're looking for Hands-on experience with IFI proposals and procedures is essential, together with professional written English. You should be able to show relevant work and explain your contribution. Grant-writing experience and Russian are strong advantages; infrastructure consulting experience is also useful. Deadlines matter. You must have experience delivering against strict submission deadlines and take responsibility for following up on missing inputs through to completion. Raise risks early and work with the team to resolve them, including adjusting your schedule during submission periods. You must be proficient in Microsoft Word or Google Docs for formatting and collaborative review, and in Google Drive for organising files and managing shared access. We value initiative and the ability to apply expert feedback. Previous leadership of a writing function isn't required.
