## Job description

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-focused, and customer-service-oriented Temporary Leave Assistant to support our Leave Management team. In this role, you will play a critical part in processing leave requests, guiding employees and managers through leave policies, and managing a high-volume caseload with accuracy and discretion. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess exceptional communication skills, and are comfortable handling sensitive employee information, this remote opportunity is an ideal fit. Location: 100% Remote (Must reside in CA, WA, OR, CO, GA, MD, or VA) Compensation: Starting at $25.00/hr.+ (Commensurate with experience) Schedule: Full-Time / Temporary Key Responsibilities Leave Administration & Tracking: Manage a high volume of leave cases from intake to resolution, ensuring all documentation is accurately reviewed, processed, and tracked against established deadlines. Employee & Manager Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers; provide empathetic, timely, and professional guidance regarding leave procedures and next steps. Compliance & Documentation: Review medical documentation, identify potential compliance concerns, and maintain precise, up-to-date case records within management systems. Clear Communication: Draft professional email correspondence, explain complex leave requirements clearly, and handle sensitive conversations with tact and professionalism. Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding medical records and sensitive employee data in accordance with privacy standards and regulations. Issue Escalation: Analyze leave-related challenges, apply established policies to resolve routine issues, and escalate complex cases to leadership when appropriate. Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of administrative, human resources, customer service, or leave management experience. Location Requirement: Must currently reside in one of the following states: CA, WA, OR, CO, GA, MD, or VA . Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams). Core Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication, superior time management, exceptional attention to detail, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and customer service. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting leave administration, disability management, workers' compensation, or HR functions. General knowledge of federal and state leave laws (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and ADA/Reasonable Accommodation processes). Experience utilizing HRIS, Leave Management Systems, or digital case management platforms. Background working within healthcare, higher education, or large enterprise environments.
