THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking an exceptional Pre-Opening General Manager to lead the launch of a world-class all-inclusive 5-star resort, Wyndham Grand Batumi Gonio, for a hotel partner in Georgia. This is a rare opportunity to shape a flagship property from concept to grand opening and beyond, introducing the all-inclusive concept to Georgia. The successful candidate will join the project well ahead of launch and will be actively involved during the construction, fit-out, and pre-opening phases. We are seeking not only an experienced hotel operator but also a hospitality expert who can work closely with the ownership and development teams to shape, refine, and optimize the hotel product before opening. The General Manager will play a critical role in ensuring that all operational, commercial, guest experience, and service considerations are fully integrated into the project from the earliest stages. KEY PROJECT ROLE – PRE-OPENING LEADERSHIP Advising ownership, developers, consultants, and project teams on hotel design, operational efficiency, and guest experience requirements. Identifying and mitigating design and construction decisions that may negatively impact future operations, guest satisfaction, or profitability. Contributing to the development of the hotel’s service concept, operational model, facilities planning, and guest journey. Ensuring alignment with international brand standards and best hospitality practices. Leading all pre-opening activities, including budgeting, procurement, systems implementation, recruitment, training, and operational readiness. Developing the organizational structure and building the leadership team required for a successful opening. Acting as a strategic advisor to ownership throughout the development and pre-opening phases. COMMERCIAL STRATEGY, MARKET DEVELOPMENT & GLOBAL POSITIONING The General Manager must possess a strong commercial mindset and a deep understanding of international tourism trends, source markets, and resort operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for building market awareness and generating demand well before the hotel opens, ensuring a strong market presence from day one. Conducting comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify target markets and growth opportunities. Analyzing tourism flows, travel trends, airline connectivity, and source market performance to support strategic decision-making. Developing and executing the hotel’s go-to-market strategy prior to opening. Creating awareness and positioning the hotel within international leisure, MICE, and corporate travel segments. Leading global pre-opening sales, marketing, PR, and digital marketing initiatives. Establishing strategic relationships with tour operators, travel agencies, DMCs, airlines, OTA partners, and key industry stakeholders. Representing the hotel at international trade shows, tourism exhibitions, roadshows, and industry events. Driving brand visibility and market recognition across key international source markets. Supporting the development of pre-opening revenue strategies, sales pipelines, and booking pace objectives. Recruiting and leading commercial leadership roles, including Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, and Distribution functions. THE CANDIDATE We are looking for a commercially driven hospitality leader who has successfully launched large-scale resort properties and understands how to create demand before a hotel opens. The ideal candidate combines strong operational expertise with strategic vision, market intelligence, and development experience, enabling them to guide the project from construction through opening and into long-term operational success. BACKGROUND Proven experience as a General Manager of an all-inclusive resort operation (mandatory). Proven experience managing a hotel or resort with a minimum inventory of 400 rooms/units (mandatory). Significant experience within internationally branded hospitality companies. Strong pre-opening experience, including participation in hotel development and opening projects. Experience collaborating with owners, developers, consultants, and construction teams during the development phase. Proven track record of driving commercial performance, market positioning, and revenue growth. Extensive knowledge of international tourism markets, distribution channels, and resort operations. Experience building demand and market awareness for hospitality projects prior to opening.
