Job Description We are seeking an experienced International Tunnel Engineer to support an upcoming irrigation project in Georgia, providing technical expertise for Detailed Engineering Design consulting services. This project aims to modernise one of Georgia's largest irrigation systems by rehabilitating major hydraulic infrastructure, improving water distribution efficiency, and supporting climate-resilient agricultural development. The selected expert will provide technical leadership for the assessment, rehabilitation, and detailed engineering design of tunnel sections and other major hydraulic structures within the irrigation network. Key Responsibilities Review existing studies, surveys, geotechnical investigations, and engineering documentation related to tunnel infrastructure. Assess the structural condition and hydraulic performance of existing irrigation tunnels. Prepare detailed engineering designs for rehabilitation or reconstruction of tunnel structures. Perform hydraulic and structural analyses for tunnels and associated hydraulic structures. Develop rehabilitation solutions for tunnels, galleries, inverted siphons, aqueducts, and related conveyance structures. Coordinate with hydraulic, geotechnical, structural, and irrigation engineers during design development. Review geological and geotechnical conditions affecting tunnel rehabilitation. Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, design calculations, and construction details. Support preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs), cost estimates, and tender documentation. Participate in field investigations, design review meetings, and technical workshops. Ensure designs comply with Georgian regulations, international engineering standards, and EIB, EU requirements. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Master's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related discipline. Required Experience Minimum 10 years of general professional experience. Minimum 8 years of experience in the design of hydraulic structures and similar infrastructure projects. Minimum 3 years of international experience outside the country of origin . Demonstrated experience in the design or rehabilitation of: Irrigation tunnels Hydraulic tunnels Galleries Inverted siphons Aqueducts Other major hydraulic conveyance structures Experience preparing detailed engineering designs for rehabilitation or modernization projects. Experience on projects funded by international financial institutions (EIB, World Bank, ADB, AFD, KfW, EBRD, EU, or similar) is highly desirable. Technical Skills Experience with: Hydraulic tunnel design Structural assessment and rehabilitation Geotechnical interpretation Hydraulic calculations AutoCAD and Civil 3D Engineering design software Technical specifications Bills of Quantities (BoQs) FIDIC-based construction documentation Language Fluent spoken and written English.
