Basic Qualifications 10 years minimum experience in Worker’s Compensation, corporate risk management, insurance brokerage, or insurance company operations Related Bachelors or Masters degree Familiarity with basic Casualty insurance concepts and strong technical expertise in Casualty insurance and Workers’ Compensation including claims management, best practices and cost containment Familiarity with U.S. Government contracting practices and acquisition regulations. Strong Project Management skills. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (charts, storytelling, import/export, teams - channels, file sharing, collaboration, create new, modify existing pages) Job Description This position is responsible for the management of Lockheed Martin's Workers’ Compensation and Defense Base Act (DBA) insurance programs and providing general workers’ compensation and DBA management support to all enterprise business area locations across Lockheed Martin. The position reports to the Director, Risk Management in Lockheed Martin's corporate Risk Management department in Bethesda, MD. The Principal Responsibilities Of The Position Are As Follows Manage a corporate-wide program of DBA, self-insured workers’ compensation and insured workers' compensation (collectively Workers’ Compensation) best practices and cost containment. Development of best practices performance standards for all parties involved in the Workers’ Compensation Management and claim management process Participation in the negotiation of contracts with service providers Coordination of performance audits and site-specific cost containment assessments Follow-up on implementation of improvements Evaluation of the effectiveness of the overall cost containment program and performance of individual service providers Providing appropriate education and support to the business units on all workers' compensation matters. The successful candidate must provide guidance and support to Business Area Risk Managers and Controllers on all aspects of Workers’ Compensation matters. The incumbent is expected to maintain a high level of technical expertise in all aspects of Workers' Compensation cost containment, and a familiarity with insurance law and basic litigation management, interaction with claims adjustors, doctors, other medical providers, insurance brokers, insurers, state insurance departments, Business Area Risk Managers, Environmental Health and Safety professionals, etc. The position will require an average of 50% travel in order to support enterprise Business Area locations across the United States for all locations. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant academic area, including a significant number of finance credits, and at least ten (10) years of experience in Workers’ Compensation corporate risk management, insurance brokerage, or insurance company operations. Preferred locations for this position are at major Lockheed Martin locations such as Orlando, Bethesda, Ft Worth, Denver, however other locations will be considered. Desired Skills Workers’ Compensation specific professional designations, including but not limited to an adjustors license, claims handling designations, etc. MBA, ARM and/or CPCU designation would be considered a plus, as would a current insurance brokerage license. Knowledge of Lockheed Martin Business Areas, systems and processes. Experience with multiple Workers’ Compensation claims management systems is a plus.
